what size generator do i need to run a refrigerator

what size generator do i need to run a refrigerator
your refrigerator  has two ratings , the starting watts and the running watts, the starting watt is the  power required by the refrigerator to start, while the running watt is the power used by the refrigerator, a starting watt is usually greater than the running watt,
for  example a 100watt  refrigerator may have a running watt of 200watt, a 250 watt refrigerator may have a running watt of 350 watt , appliances are usually rated using the running watt.
Similar generator are also rated, there are 2000 watt generator, 3500 watt and even 12000 watt generators, like electric appliances generators also have  two ratings , the starting watts and the running watt. The starting watt is power required by the generator to start while the running watt is the amount of load the generator can support.
Therefore if your generator is having a running watts of 100 watt and a starting watts of 1000 watt,  then the size of the generator you will need most be more than the 1000 watt, 1500 watt generator can do. If your refrigerator running watt is 500 watt and the starting watt is 1200 watt , then th generator you  will need must have ratings greater than 1200, 1 500 watt or 2000 watt or 3000 watt generator can do
If you have other appliances that you will like run together with your generator you will have to consider their wattage also. All in all your total appliances watt must be less than the running watt of your generator.
